The LightSheer® Treatment
At Fresh Canvas spa, our commitment to using only the highest-quality technology has brought us to offer our Abbotsfor, B.C. customer the LightSheer® laser hair removal system.
How It Works
The LightSheer® system consists of a diode laser that was designed specifically for the sole function of hair removal. It has been clinically proven to be both the safest and most effective laser hair removal technology available. The LightSheer® device emits a laser beam that is readily absorbed by pigment in each hair follicle. Each momentary pulse of the laser (no longer than a split-second) heats up the hair enough to obstruct the hair follicle`s ability to grow back.
A specially designed contact-cooling handpiece is used to protect and cool the topmost layer of skin. Because the laser heats up each hair follicle, the LightSheer® system`s cooling mechanism is integral to maintaining the customer`s safety and comfort level.
The LightSheer® Procedure
Depending on the size of the treatment area, the LightSheer® laser hair removal procedure can take anywhere between a few minutes and an hour. For especially large areas, the treatment may take longer than an hour. Multiple treatment sessions are recommended for ideal results, as the hair follicles in the active growth phase are most receptive to the laser`s energy. Subsequent laser hair removal treatments will be able to affect hair follicles that were not in the active growth cycle during precious sessions.
Most customer find the sensation of the actual treatment to be of minor discomfort and are able to tolerate it without much trouble. However, for patients who are very sensitive, a topical anesthetic may be applied to improve comfort. After the procedure, the majority of customer are able to resume normal activities immediately.
